Description

Metacam (meloxicam) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) oral suspension for use for the treatment of pain and inflammation in dogs. It should not be used in the last third of pregnancy and should not be used in nursing animals. Do not use in animals with heart, kidney or liver disease. For use in dogs, not approved for use in cats.


9/17/10, From Boehringer Ingelheim: "Warning: Repeated use of meloxicam in cats has been associated with acute renal failure and death. Do not administer additional doses of injectable or oral meloxicam to cats."
